The 30-Day retreat was a very powerful experience this year...12 member of the community made the adventure over to India to visit Gangtok, , where our teacher
Gen-la Chokyi Dhakpa was trained by Gyaltsab Rinpoche. We travelled approximately 36 hours between jeep, plane and cab to finally arrive in beautiful Gangtok. After a couple days of rest and a trip to visit the Three Year retreat
center, the retreat began in earnest. We had a surprise on Day 9--a visit back to Rumtek Monastery to receive blessings from one of the regents of the Kagyu lineage--Gyaltsab Rinpoche, who also happens to
be one of Gen-la's teachers! It was an exciting and moving experience to obtain his special blessing while we were there.
Each page of pictures is a different section of the trip. Roughly speaking, they are:
- Arrival in Dehli, driving past Kalu Rinpoche's stupa
- Travel up the Tista river valley to Gangtok (5.5 hr drive by jeep)
