30-Day Retreat Pictures, Part 1, May 2007
The 30-Day retreat was a very powerful experience this year...12 member of the community made the adventure over to India to visit Gangtok, , where our teacher Gen-la Chokyi Dhakpa was trained by Gyaltsab Rinpoche. We travelled approximately 36 hours between jeep, plane and cab to finally arrive in beautiful Gangtok. After a couple days of rest and a trip to visit the Three Year retreat center, the retreat began in earnest. We had a surprise on Day 9--a visit back to Rumtek Monastery to receive blessings from one of the regents of the Kagyu lineage--Gyaltsab Rinpoche, who also happens to be one of Gen-la's teachers! It was an exciting and moving experience to obtain his special blessing while we were there.
