This retreat will focus on the practical aspects of accessing Samma Samadhi or Right Concentration, the necessary precursor to absorption states critical for attaining realization and enlightenment.

The retreat is open to all and will vividly detail the meditative practices necessary to develop a calm, alert mind capable of penetrating the depths of reality. With precision and lucidity we will discuss and practice step-by-step the progressive stages of meditation, and practical antidotes to the various obstacles that may arise in one’s practice.

The retreat will be drawing on accessibly classic ancient Indian knowledge by Asanga on the concentrations and the formless absorptions as presented in Maitreya’s, “Ornament for Clear Realization.”

Right Meditation is a point of intersection between the subjective world that each of us projects and the relationship to the mental states that serve as their basis. Thus, all practitioners, from those approaching as beginners to well-adapted yogi’s will be able to locate both their present mental state, on the one hand, and their aspirations and goals, on the other, in a comprehensive map of mental states, and they can also find, on that map, a layout of means for reaching their goals of calm-abiding and compassionate wisdom.

We look forward to coming together in practice and kindness. May All be well, happy, safe, peaceful, and at ease.
