Ringu Tulku Rinpoche

Mahamudra is the highest type of meditation in the Kagyu lineage. It is the practice of awareness of the nature of the mind, and the direct perception of our experience as the inseparable radiance of that nature. In Mahamudra we train in seeing the coemergence of clarity and emptiness as the true nature of everything we experience.

In this weekend program, Ringu Tulku will introduce the teachings on Mahamudra by Gampopa, the foremost student of Milarepa. Gampopa is renowned as a great practitioner and teacher, and his meditation instructions are exceptionally clear and direct.

These teachings are taken from a text called "Gampopa's Great Teachings to the Assembly," which is a compilation of meditation instructions that Gampopa gave to his personal students. Along with indispensable foundational teachings, Gampopa discusses such topics as how to stabilize the recognition of the nature of the mind, the application of coemergence, and the true meaning of Mahamudra.
