Ringu Tulku Rinpoche

As an overview of the Mahayana path, Ringu Tulku will discuss a short but seminal work called "The Thirty-Seven Practices of a Bodhisattva." It was written by Ngulchu Thogme, a highly acclaimed scholar and saint, who was known as a genuine bodhisattva because he truly practiced what he taught.

This text is a poetic condensation of Shantideva's "Bodhicharyavatara," or "The Way of a Bodhisattva." Rinpoche's center, Summit Dharma Center, takes its name from this way of cultivating the compassion and wisdom of a bodhisattva. A bodhisattva is someone who thinks, "I would like to attain the highest state of lasting peace and happiness, and I will do so for myself and all sentient beings."

In this program Ringu Tulku will transmit the advice of Ngulchu Thogme on how we can actualize these aspirations in our practice and daily life.

An optional text, "The Thirty Seven Practices of Bodhisattvas" by Geshe Sonam Rinchen, may be purchased at Snow Lion Publications
