Gen-la Chokyi Dhakpa

The purpose of this retreat is to become realistically and completely aware or gain Mindfulness of our Body. This teaching was one of the Buddha's 4 main Instructions to Realization. In this weekend practice we will use the breath to explore our bodily posture, respiration, to utilize the breath to gain a thorough contemplative understanding of impermanence, meditatively reflect on the internal proceeses of our bodies, on the temporary nature our material elements, and begin the meditations that bring attention toward and preparation for death.

By methodically working and weaving our way though these practices we will begin heighten our attention and awareness of this very moment so that it can be fully appreciated as it is. Compassion for ourselves and our bodies will be emphasized throughout the weekend.

This retreat will be done using our satellite center broadcast technology, so local groups will be hosting this retreat in various locations around the world. Please contact Dave Rodenbaugh to find out more about a community near you, or how to host your own retreat gathering!
