The Three Year Retreat is an intensive, 3 year, 3 month, and 3 day solitary retreat that brings together some of the higher practices in Vajrayana Buddhism in an intensive setting.
Those going on the retreat will be living in small retreat "huts", meditating for the majority of the day, with some time for teachings in a main Shrine Room, led by Ringu Tulku Rinpoche. These huts have minimal amenities and are designed as non-distracting shelter to allow each practitioner the most conducive atmosphere to look at their minds.
Upon return, those having completed the Three Year Retreat are given the title "Lama" and go by their choice of name--either their monastic name, Refuge name, or Bodhisattva name.
Summit Dharma Center is overjoyed to be sending such a large and dedicated group to our first Three Year Retreat in Sikkim, India.
